These three paintings were part of how I processed the beginning of the Israel-Hamas war. We obsessively followed the news from minute to minute, feeling scared and helpless from New York. There was a massive surge of ugly and violent antisemitism and anti-Arab/Islamophobia in America and the world. I found it to be an extremely painful time to be Jewish. Through art, we can experience moments of peace or slivers of light in what feels like total darkness.
